Biome Bioplast GS2189

For injection moulding or sheet extrusion, our product of choice is Biome Bioplast GS2189. The resin is produced from over 60% sustainable crop material.

Made from corn starch mixed with other proprietary brand products for superior flexibility, it is biodegradable and readily compostable in thin sections and is certified EN 13432 and DIN CERTCO biodegradable and compostable. For food end uses, it has EU & FDA (USA) Food Contact Approval. 

Biome Bioplast GS2189 processes well on existing moulds and equipment and can be vividly coloured, using specially designed masterbatches, with no detriment to its properties. It is incredibly versatile and can be made into sheet for thermoforming; blown into thin film or injection moulded into virtually any shape.

Biome Bioplast GS2189 has now been used for injection moulded and thermoformed parts in a wide spectrum of applications areas, including horticultural, catering, personal care, electronics, automotive, office products – the list goes on!
